Collaboration between ISIMA and businesses in Engineer Projects
ISIMA offers companies the opportunity to entrust concrete engineer projects to its 4th (ZZ2) and 5th year (ZZ3) engineering students. This collaboration is a real opportunity for companies to benefit from advanced technical skills. At the same time, it supports the training of future engineers.
Organisation of engineering projects
Each project is carried out by a pair of students, with the possibility of combining the skills of two different disciplines. Companies can propose technical, organisational or experimental subjects. They define the topics according to their specific needs.
If required, the company can provide the hardware or software needed to carry out the projects. Most of the work is carried out on ISIMA’s premises. However, on-site visits are possible if necessary.
Periods & Hours
For 5th year students (ZZ3), the project takes place from November to March, in parallel with the course, at a rate of 120 hours per student. For 4th year students (ZZ2), the project period is concentrated in February and March, full-time, for a total of 60 hours per student.
Assessment
Projects are assessed by writing a detailed report and giving an oral presentation. The oral presentation lasts one hour and is organised on the ISIMA premises (mid-March). It also includes a 20-minute presentation by the students. This is followed by a discussion with a panel of judges made up of the company tutor and an ISIMA educational advisor.
How do I propose a project to our students?
To propose a project, simply complete a project form (available on request) and send it to the relevant course leader(s). The teaching team then selects the subjects submitted. Which are presented to the students by the companies themselves during short presentations, and then allocated to pairs. The course leaders inform the companies of their assignments.
Do you have a mission to entrust outside the academic curriculum?
In addition to the projects included in the curriculum, companies can also call on the IMAGE company association. This structure makes it possible to entrust project offers to volunteer students, giving them paid work experience while meeting the specific needs of the company.
IMAGE embodies the dynamic, practical link between education and the professional world.
Being able to collaborate with ISIMA’s student engineers means investing in innovation, training and the recruitment of talent specialising in software development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science and embedded systems.
What’s more, this initiative also means building a lasting partnership with a school that is committed to working alongside businesses to meet the technological challenges of today and tomorrow.
