Many privileged links and partnerships are maintained with companies, allowing our students to undertake internships of 3 to 6 months depending on their courses (see ISIMA Internship Calendar 2023-2024).

Most students work in sectors such as:

  • organizational computing (large companies, SMEs/SMIs, banks, insurance companies, public services, tertiary sector, industrial sector, defense, etc.)
  • computing and modeling of industrial systems
  • scientific calculation and modeling (aeronautics, automotive, transport…)
  • construction of computer hardware or provision of computer engineering services (ESN)
  • computer security
  • research and development (university laboratories, CNES, CEA, INRAE…)
  • multimedia and internet development (website design, security…)
  • networks and telecommunications

ISIMA students have the opportunity to do an internship in each of their years of study;

The internship is mandatory in the 2nd and 3rd years of the ISIMA Engineering Degree, as well as in all Master’s courses, 1st and 2nd years.

Thus, every year, nearly 400 ISIMA students go on internships under an internship agreement established between the training institution and a company or establishment (private and public companies, local authorities, international organizations, laboratories…) in France or abroad.

Moreover, Engineering students must complete a minimum of 17 weeks of international mobility to obtain their diploma, either through an internship or through studies abroad (semester, year, international double degree).

International Mobility Assistance:

You may be eligible for several international mobility aids, depending on your personal situation and the type of mobility (studies, internship, Europe, etc.):

      • AMI from Crous
      • Scholarship from the Auvergne Rhône Alpes Regional Council
      • Erasmus Scholarship
      • Scholarship from the City of Clermont-Fd
      • Additional aid (under conditions) from ISIMA

      • Each scholarship application requires a separate file.
      • Each body managing these aids selects the beneficiary students based on the following criteria: academic results, motivation, coherence with the professional project, language level, financial criteria, previous mobilities.
      • At ISIMA, requests for internships abroad must be validated and have a convention request submitted to the Internship Office no later than mid-January. The allocation committee meets in February; each student is individually notified of the Committee’s decision.
