Presentation of the training

The double degree in Mathematics and Computer Science offered by the University of Clermont Auvergne (UCA) in partnership with ISIMA is a unique and demanding course for students who are passionate about science. In just 3 years, it allows you to obtain two recognized degrees: a Bachelor of Mathematics and a Bachelor of Computer Science. This path of excellence offers a solid and complementary foundation in these two fundamental disciplines, opening up opportunities in promising fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or Applied Mathematics. ISIMA, which is renowned for its expertise in computer engineering, brings real added value to the program thanks to its strong links with the professional world and its high-level specializations.

Conditions of admission

There are two ways to integrate the dual license:

Via Parcoursup: Students can apply directly to this selective training from the final year. 30 places are available each year, guaranteeing a personalized support. Candidates from different backgrounds can volunteer: why not you?

After the first semester: Students enrolled in a Bachelor of Mathematics or Computer Science can apply for the double degree based on their results and motivation. In both cases, admission is based on your motivation for mathematics and computer science as well as your academic achievement.

Curriculum and organization of studies

The dual degree program combines mathematical rigour and computer science practice. It includes fundamental courses in algebra, analysis, programming and algorithms, with a balanced progression between the two disciplines. ISIMA enriches this program with its approach oriented towards concrete applications, notably in Artificial Intelligence and software development. Students benefit from a structured schedule and small group work practice, allowing for deep and collaborative learning.

Support and flexibility

One of the strengths of this training is its flexibility:

• Reversibility: Students can, in consultation with the educational managers, switch to a single degree (Mathematics or Computer Science) at the end of a semester if it better fits their objectives.

• Progressivity: In addition, those who wish to integrate the double degree after a successful first year in one of the disciplines (Mathematics or Computer Science) can also do so subject to a study of their file.

ISIMA and UCA make it a point of honour to accompany each student in his or her journey, offering adapted teaching resources and personalized follow-up.

Benefits and strengths of training

This unique training combines the strengths of UCA and ISIMA to provide a dual skill that is highly sought after in the labour market. In 3 years, students acquire rare expertise in mathematics and computer science, opening doors to careers in artificial intelligence, big data, cybersecurity or research. In addition, the dual degree is an ideal platform to access UCA’s masters, including that in Artificial Intelligence, as well as the specialties offered by ISIMA, nationally recognized for its teaching quality and partnerships with industry.
