The ISIMA-OTH summer school, under the auspices of Clermont-Auvergne INP and OTH Regensburg, was created based on an idea by professors Dr. Markus Westner (OTH) and Viet Hung Nguyen (ISIMA-Clermont Auvergne INP). Its purpose is to provide an intensive international immersion experience for participating students, both culturally and scientifically.
In 2022-2023, we held the second edition of this summer school, bringing together 23 students (15 French and 8 German), which took place in two stages:
The German stage from June 26 to July 5, 2023, and the French stage from August 28 to September 8, 2023.
The scientific theme of the school was “online optimization,” with scientific courses in the German part being taught by Prof. Dr. Stefan Körkle and the scientific courses in the French part being conducted by Prof. Dr. Annegret Wagler.
These courses were also accompanied by language courses (German and French) as well as cultural activities during both stages. The activities organized by ISIMA included the Michelin adventure, the ascent of Puy de Dôme, a reception at the town hall, and 2 group meals. Social and sharing activities were planned to promote interaction between OTH and ISIMA students.
The school received significant financial and administrative support, including from the Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ), ISIMA, INP, and OTH.
