Presentation of ISIMA, Higher Institute of Computer Modeling and Applications
ISIMA is a public engineering school specialising in computer science, based in Clermont-Ferrand, with a focus on careers in computer science and its applications.
ISIMA is one of the founding member schools of Clermont Auvergne INP, a network of INP institutions.
Accredited by the Commission des titres d’ingénieur (CTI) to deliver engineering degrees since its creation, the school welcomes nearly 1,000 new students from around the world every year.
Courses available to incoming international students
There are several study pathways available to incoming international students:
Master ICS → Applications must be submitted to e-candidat
Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence (full-time) → Applications must be submitted to e-candidat
Master’s degree in Computer Science (full-time) → Applications must be submitted to Etudes en France
Master’s in Industrial Engineering (full-time) → Applications must be submitted to Etudes en France
International students could also benefit from a MIAI scholarship, which supports outstanding academic achievement in the field of artificial intelligence.
A high-quality, recognised and accessible program
ISIMA’s courses cover several key areas of expertise:
- Software Engineering and Computer Systems
- Software Development
- Artificial Intelligence
- Cybersecurity
- Virtual Reality
These fields are at the heart of current technological challenges and are in high demand among businesses and research laboratories.
Some key figure:
- 1,000 students
- 250 graduates per year (equivalent to a master’s degree)
- 87% employment rate after six months (average over the last three years)
A school with strong links to research: LIMOS
ISIMA draws on the LIMOS research laboratory, which is recognised both nationally and internationally and is affiliated with the CNRS.
Students therefore benefit from:
- teaching directly linked to research,
- scientific projects supervised by researchers,
- an immersion in innovative topics such as AI and optimisation.
Proceed to a PhD after ISIMA:
After obtaining a master’s degree, students have the opportunity to pursue a PhD at LIMOS.
Continuing your studies allows you to:
- to specialise in an advanced scientific field,
- to work on international research projects
- to build a career in research or technological innovation.
