Meetings on Gender Diversity in Digital Professions – ISIMA – March 12, 2015

In the context of the e-campus campus of trades and qualifications, led by ISIMA and the La Fayette high school in Clermont-Ferrand, and as part of the network of “cordées de la Réussite” in the Clermont-Ferrand academy, ISIMA heads a “cordée de la réussite” called “e.cordée,” which aims to encourage the ambitions of young people, particularly young girls, in the field of digital professions.

The Clermont-Ferrand computer engineering school is organizing the first edition of meetings between middle school students and women or students working in digital-related professions on March 12, 2015. The goal is to introduce third-year students (both boys and girls) to the computer and digital professions through testimonies from professionals and students in computer science, with a dual purpose: knowledge of this sector and awareness of gender equality, especially in scientific fields.

The chosen format consists of 4 rotating workshops (for the students), each lasting 30 minutes. In each workshop, two speakers will present their career paths and professional projects and engage in open discussions with groups of students. These speakers are either engineers or educators in the field of digital technology or ISIMA students preparing for their computer engineering degree. In this first edition, the laureate of the 2014 Equation Mixité DUT Award will also share her testimony, and the Auvergne representative of the “Femmes du Numérique” (Women in Digital) commission of SYNTEC will participate in the discussions.

For this first edition, students will come from two colleges in Cournon (Marc Bloch) and Clermont-Ferrand (l’Oradou).
